Sharply Lower Prices for Tiger Shrimp

Shrimp farmers in southwestern Bangladesh, specifically Bagerhat, become desperate as prices for tiger shrimp fall $5 to $6.50 a kilogram!

The Bangladesh Frozen Foods Exporters Association and others blame the falling prices on the lack of demand in foreign markets.

To make matters worse, the farmers are not getting paid for their shrimp because the middlemen who bought them are not getting paid by the processors.
