Cormorant Deterrent

Linda Thornton, a shrimp farmer in Belize, reports:

I have large, 25-acre ponds on my farm in Belize.  Every year we are plagued by invading cormorants.  Since March 2013, however, I have been using stainless steel automatic feeders from Sweeney in Texas, USA.  Now we never see any cormorants in our ponds.  They fly from one shrimp farm to the next, but don’t stop at my farm.

Has anyone else had similar experiences with automatic feeders?  Does this mean that automatic feeders reduce feed conversion ratios, labor costs—and cormorant predation?
