Canary Islands

Allows Monodon and Vannamei

The Canary Islands, a Spanish archipelago located just off the northwest coast of Africa, has authorized the introduction of Penaeus vannamei and P. monodon for Langostino Real Canarias SL’s shrimp farming project on Gran Canary Island.  All Langostino Real’s shrimp imports must have SPF (specific pathogen free) certificates, and it will have to keep dated records of all the shrimp it sells in the Canary Islands, along with the identities of the purchasers, their address and the quantities sold.  It will not be allowed to sell live shrimp to other companies.
