Hainan Island—Shrimp Farmers Switch to Fish


In 2015, on Hainan Island, off the south coast of China, shrimp growth rates have been stunted and mortalities have been high, so many farmers have switched to finfish species like grouper.  In addition, farm-gate prices for shrimp have dropped.
