Pescanova Sells Two Shrimp Farms

Sociedad Nacional de Galapagos (Songa) has purchased two shrimp farms totaling 1,300 hectares from Promarisco, until recently one of Ecuadors’ largest shrimp farming operations.  Promarisco is owned by Pescanova, the troubled Spanish seafood giant that may soon file for bankruptcy.  Francisco Sola and Rodrigo Laniado are the co-owners of Songa.  “Both farms will be managed independently from Songa, which will [now] process the production of close to 9,000 hectares of farms owned by its shareholders,” said Sola.
