Global Aquaculture Alliance’s Panel Session on EMS



On Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at GOAL 2012 in Paris, France, Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) President George Chamberlain will lead a panel discussion on early mortality syndrome (EMS) featuring Don Lightner, the University of Arizona shrimp pathologist who identified the cause of EMS; Agrobest’s Noriaki Akazawa, who identified the environmental trigger for EMS; Robins McIntosh, senior VP of CP Foods, one of the world’s largest shrimp producers; and Gorjan Nikolik of Rabobank International, whose recent report outlined the impact of EMS on shrimp supplies and prices.


The panel also features University of Prince Edward Island (Canada) professor Fred Kibenge, who will provide an update on infectious salmon anemia.
