In Honduras, between 3.2 and 3.5 million pounds of farmed shrimp, worth between $9 and $10 million, are thought to be stolen every year by gangs of thieves.  Victor Wilson, president of the National Aquaculture Association of Honduras, says shrimp theft has put some farms out of business and caused at lease one farm to double or triple its budget to resolve the problem.
