Illegal Shrimp Farms Closed

 

In the special region of Yogyakarta on the south coast of the island of Java, the government has closed hundreds of illegal shrimp farms because coastal residents claimed that they were dumping their wastes into sea and disrupting coastal plantations.  The farmers were allowed to harvest their ponds before the shut down.
