Two-Pound Bag of Farmed Shrimp


I purchased this two-pound bag of frozen, farmed, shell-off (except for the tail tip) shrimp tails (Item Number 25549) at a Costco store in Mountain View, California, for $13.99 in early December 2015.


On the back of the bag it said:


Product of Indonesia, distributed by Costco


“Kirkland Signature [Costco’s Store Brand] Shrimp with their, sweet, natural flavor are great for grilling or in you favorite recipe.  Farm-raised, they are packaged within hours of being harvested and are naturally low in fat.”


Also on the back of the resealable bag was a bar code, two tracing numbers: (210851222295 and 14333) and the following information:


Best if used by November 21, 2016


To Properly Thaw: Place bag of shrimp overnight in the refrigerator.  Drain and use in your favorite recipe.  Do not force thaw under running water.



Nutrition Facts (per serving): Serving size 4 ounces (112 grams about nine shrimp).  Servings per bag, about 8.  Calories per serving 100, calories from fat 5.
