Maruha Nichiro Sells Malaysia Shrimp Farm to Chinese Buyer

 

On March 28, 2016, Japanese seafood giant Maruha Nichiro announced it is selling its Malaysian shrimp farm Agrobest to a Chinese firm.

 

Maruha Nichiro lost $6.23 million on the Agrobest project.  Established in June 1988, Agrobest has been facing shrimp disease problems on its shrimp farms since 2011.
