QL Resources Invests in $7.5 Million in Shrimp Farming

QL Resources, a surimi, poultry and palm oil producer, plans to invest $7.5 million in the first phase of a shrimp farming project that will have 100 ponds by the end of 2015.  QL Resources is a sustainable and scalable multinational agro-food corporation with a market capitalization of over $800 million.  Freddie Yap, the company’s group accountant, said, “We have identified the first 20 ponds to be constructed and should be able to commence operations by end of calendar year 2013.”  Eventually, the farm plans to develop 350 acres of shrimp ponds at its site in Kudat, East Malaysia.  It will be an integrated project with a feed mill, hatchery, farm and processing plant.
