Correction—Whole Sizes to Tail Sizes—See Table


Joaquin Verdugo Lopez (, a marine biologist with the RZ Seafood Trading Company in Obregon, Sonora, Mexico, reports:


Bob, I think there is a huge mistake in your Mexico/Belize report that was posted on November 25, 2015.  You said, “A 32-gram shrimp produces a U-10 or U-12 headless shrimp.”  That’s not right.  A 32-gram whole shrimp produces a 21/25 headless shrimp, not a U/12 or U/10.  Those two sizes come from 60 and 70-gram whole shrimp.
