The History of Shrimp Fishing from 1940 to 1950

 

This 24-page article with over forty black and white pictures tells the story of Mexico’s shrimp fishing industry from 1940 to 1950, the decade when shrimp fishing in northwest Mexico exploded.  It has a map, pictures of the ten, or so, men that were instrumental in starting the industry, a list of the processing plants that were in business in 1950 and a floor plan of one of the processing plants.  For a copy of the article, click on the link in the Source below.
