Mexico

Price Drop of Twenty-Five Percent

Translated by Google: Eduardo René Azano, the president of the Seafood Retailers Association in Guadalajara, said the current price of shrimp was about $10.05 a kilogram, compared to $13.40 during the same period in 2014, when shrimp was very scarce and Mexico had to rely on some imports.  He said that production was very good this year.  Due to the lower prices, traders expect shrimp consumption to increase 50% in 2015.
