Landing Aquaculture

Landing Aquaculture, an engineering firm based in The Netherlands, designed and built the above intensive shrimp nursery system for IMAQUA, a Belgium company that offers immunology technologies and contract research to the shrimp farming industries.  Called the “Landing PILOT™ RAS”, the system components can be isolated, cleaned and removed with ease, and tanks can be drained, removed and added again without interruptions or extra equipment.  The system comes with extra connectors so additional tanks can be connected without hassle.

IMAQUA, which was looking for a compact, expandable and portable design, will be stocking the system with SPF Penaeus vannamei postlarvae and growing them to market size.  In the future, additional tanks will be added to the system to allow for feeding trials and extra flexibility.  Landing Aquaculture will be closely supporting IMAQUA to ensure smooth operations and to obtain user feedback.  Landing Aquaculture is run by Rob van de Ven (Wageningen University, The Netherlands) and Carlos A. Espinal (Universitat de Barcelona, Spain).
