The GeneReach Test Kit for EMS

At the XI International Symposium on Latin America Aquaculture on February 14–15, 2014, in Panama City, Panama, Dr. Simon Chung, Vice President of Sales at GeneReach Biotechnology Corp, gave a talk and a workshop on the first PCR EMS detection kit.

The “IQ PlusTM AHPNS/EMS Kit” is intended for acute hepatopancreatic necrosis syndrome/early mortality syndrome detection from aquaculture specimens based on insulated isothermal PCR (iiPCR) technology.  The kit is specially designed to be used with a compatible iiPCR instrument, POCKITTM Nucleic Acid Analyzer (POCKIT).  The intended users of the kits are aquaculture farm workers who have basic laboratory skills.

GeneReach was authorized by University of Arizona to develop IQ PlusTM AHPNS/EMS Kit based on iiPCR technology, which is highly sensitive and specific for AHPNS/EMS detection, and is comparable to the IQ 2000TM Prevention and Detection System.  The IQ PlusTM AHPNS/EMS Kit is specially designed for on-site detection at the farm.  The assay has been simplified for easier and faster operation with the use of compact and portable equipment for AHPNS/EMS detection at pond-side.

The IQ PlusTM AHPNS/EMS Kit targets the virulence associated plasmid sequence of Vibrio parahaemolyticus.

The kit is suitable for detecting nucleic acid extracted from:

• The Hepatopancreas

• Fecal Samples

• Postlarvae

• Pond Water

• Feed Organisms (including Artemia, squid, oysters and bloodworms)

The price of the kit includes one full day of training along with a manual.
