Shrimp Exports and Imports January-March 2014

 

According to Thai Customs, in January-March 2014, total shrimp exports of all product forms (not including freshwater prawns) reached 28,598 tons, worth $369 million.  South Korea, Japan and the USA were the main importers of Thai shrimp.

 

In March 2014, total shrimp exports of all product forms (not including freshwater prawns) reached 9,667 metric tons, worth over $127.3 million.  These figures are up 5% in volume and 9% in value over the previous month.  The average price of exports in March 2014 was $13.17 a kilogram.

 

In January-March 2014, total shrimp imports in all product forms (not including freshwater prawns) reached 4,661 tons, worth $41 million.  The main suppliers were China, Ecuador, Argentina and Vietnam.
