Final Dumping Duty 1.1%

In its final determination on dumping duties, the USA Department of Commerce upheld the higher rates it set for Thai shrimp exporters in March 2014, when dumping duties were raised from zero to an average rate of 1.1 percent.

Commerce has switched to a new calculation methodology called “Differential Pricing.”  According to attorney Jarrod Goldfeder from Trade Pacific, a leading Washington DC-based international trade law firm, the Commerce’s complicated new methodology employs a highly controversial “zeroing” practice that has been the subject of several ongoing challenges before the agency and in USA courts.

The final rates on Thailand have already taken effect.
