Daniel Gruenberg Reports

I visited several processing plants and feed mills in Thailand yesterday [November 20, 2013].

The processing plants were working at about 20% of capacity, and the feed mills were working at about 50% of capacity.

Pellet sizes were highly concentrated on 1, 2 and 3S with very limited quantities of 3M and larger, indicating a very limited production of large shrimp.

The feed mills I visited represent about 30% of production in Thailand, and the picture was similar at each mill.

Despite reports of a slow recovery in Thai shrimp farming, I didn’t see any sign of it yesterday.
