Farming Shrimp on Sandy Soils


Chingchai Lohawatanakul, Managing Director of the Charoen Pokphand Group, one of the largest conglomerates in Thailand, said CP has invested $65 million in Thua Thien-Hue Province, mainly in seafood processing and shrimp farming.   It has built a $30 million shrimp processing plant with an annual capacity of 10,000-20,000 tons and developed 4,000 hectares of greenhouse-covered shrimp ponds on sandy soil.
