Texas—Dr. Addison Lawrence Extends Patent on Stacked Raceways to EU

In addition to patenting his stacked raceway system for farming shrimp in the United States, Dr. Addison Lawrence has now patented it in Germany, France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Spain and Italy. The stacked raceway system can produce 1 million pounds of shrimp per acre per year.

Lawrence hopes to initiate a commercial project somewhere in the world in the near future.  In December 2012, he said, “We have several very interested commercial groups interested in using the technology to develop shrimp farms in the United States, and we have several groups interested in developing farms outside of the USA.”
