California—Video—Taste Test—Farmed Versus Wild-Caught

In this five-minute video, TosTinMan, who has his own channel on YouTube (TTM’s Easy Cooking), and his wife conduct a taste test of farmed and wild-caught shrimp.  TosTinMan cooks up three shell-on products:

• Farmed shrimp from Indonesia at $7.00 a pound.  Ingredients: shrimp, salt and sodium

phosphate (to retain moisture).

• Vietnamese, farmed, giant tiger shrimp from Seattle Shrimp and Seafood Company at $7.00

a pound.  Ingredients: shrimp and salt.

• Wild-caught shrimp from the Pacific Coast of Baja, Mexico, at $16.99 a pound.

He cooks them all together in a hot frying pan with olive oil, half with their shells on and half with

their shells off, no seasoning or sauces.

And the winner’ll have to watch the video.  Make your guess, I think you’ll be surprised.
