California—Whole Foods Market, Prices

On August 1, 2014, I took this photograph at the Whole Foods Market in Cupertino, California.  After its store in Austin, Texas, its corporate headquarters, the Cupertino store is the largest store in its chain.  With more than 365 stores globally, Whole Foods specializes in natural and organic foods with prices notably higher that those in traditional grocery stores.  For fish and shrimp, for example, its prices are frequently twice as high as those in traditional grocery stores

#1. Farmed, Previously Frozen, 26/30 Count, Raw, Peeled and Deveined Shrimp, $17.99 a pound.

#2. Farmed, Fresh, 36/40 Count, Shell-On Shrimp, $14.99 a pound.

# 3. Wild-Caught, Under 15 Count, Previously Frozen, Raw, Shell-On Shrimp, $17.99 a pound.

#4. Wild-Caught, Previously Frozen, 16/20 Count, Shell-On, Florida White Shrimp, $17.99 a pound.
