Florida—Brazilian Shrimp Restaurant Chain Targets the USA

The Shrimp House is a Brazilian-based restaurant chain that features farm-raised shrimp from Brazil.  It already has two restaurants in Florida, Coral Springs and Miami, and a third about to open in Boca Raton.  Future locations include West Palm Beach and Orlando, Florida, and it has a $20 million expansion plan for the development of restaurants in Texas and California.

Known as Vivenda do Camarão in Portuguese, the original Shrimp House was founded in 1984 in the Sao Paulo neighborhood of Brazil by restaurateur Fernando Perri.  There are now more than 100 Shrimp House locations across Latin America.

The new Boca Raton location will offer counter service as well as conventional sit-down service, with shrimp served in a variety of ways—more than 20 dishes—all priced under $12.
