New Jersey—Epicore’s Annual Report for 2014

Fiscal 2014 was a remarkable year for Epicore BioNetworks, Inc., which supplies broodstock feeds, algae growth promoters, liquid feeds, dry feeds and highly specialized probiotics to shrimp hatcheries and farms worldwide.  Sales records were set in every quarter and net income (without exceptional adjustments) broke the million-dollar mark for the first time.  Epicore’s productivity enhancing products were in high demand as shrimp farmers readily accepted new tools and techniques to fight the ravages of early mortality syndrome (EMS).

Some highlights versus the prior fiscal year were:

An increase in revenue from $5.6 million to $7.6 million (a 36% increase)

An increase in gross profit from $3.5 million to $4.9 million (a 38% increase)

An increase in operating expenses from $2.7 to $2.8 million (a 5% increase)

An increase in net income from $0.5 million to $1.2 million (a 144% increase)

An increase in EBITDA from $0.9 million to $2.1 million (a 133% increase)

An increase in shareholders’ equity from $5.4 million to $6.7 million (a 24% increase)

An increase in cash from $1.9 million to $3.0 million (a 54% increase)

An increase in basic and diluted earnings per share from $0.02 to $0.05

In 2014, Epicore, which has been profitable for eleven years in a row, actively worked to maintain its ISO 9001:2008 certification and began a program to get HACCP (hazard analysis and critical control point) and Global GAP certification.

Epicore’s financial statements were prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards.  It is a public corporation with a registered office in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where its shares trade on the TSX Venture Exchange (symbol EBN).
