New Jersey—Florfenicol Approved to Treat Vibrio parahaemolyticus

 

The latest Updated Minor Use/Minor Species (MUMS) Drug Designations List posted on the USA Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Veterinary Medicine’s Website shows that Intervet, Inc. (doing business as Merck Animal Health) has received approval for Aquaflor (florfenicol) to treat mortality associated with Vibrio harveyi, V. penaeicida and V. parahaemolyticus in penaeid shrimp.
