Pennsylvania—Zeigler Job Announcement


Zeigler Bros., Inc., an aquaculture feed producer located in Pennsylvania, USA, is seeking a dynamic and highly trained individual in the Western Hemisphere to provide management and technical support for its growing hatchery and nursery feeds programs.   Candidates must have the following qualifications:


• Minimum of 10+ years’ experience as a senior hatchery technician or manager

• Experience and extensive knowledge in all aspects of larval and nursery rearing,

including development and application of feeding protocols

• Experience in training and management within hatchery and nursery operations

• Recent experience in Western larval and nursery culture and techniques

• Experience with Zeigler products, including liquid larval feeds

• Experience with hyper-intensive shrimp culture preferred

• Located in the Americas with ability to travel extensively throughout the region

• Fluent in Spanish and English (speaking and writing), with experience speaking to large groups

• Computer skills and familiarity with in Microsoft’s Word, Excel and PowerPoint


The responsibilities of the position are as follows, but are not limited to the following:


• Provide technical training and support to hatchery, nursery and maturation operations with emphasis on nutrition, feeds and feed management

• Able to improve larval, postlarval, and broodstock performance through on-site

management of feeding trials

• Assist in development of feeding protocols, product testing and general technical applications

• Support sales of products through demonstration of proof of performance

• Provide feedback on customer requirements

• Provide training and education to distributor network staff

• Provide technical presentations in support of customer and industry needs

• Collect and update market production information and trends

• International travel and attendance at industry conferences and events
