Video—How to Make a Shrimp Burger

This five-minute video shows you how to make a shrimp burger.  It’s a vey simple recipe, requiring only fresh breadcrumbs, mayonnaise and shrimp.  All you need to do is blend the mixture in a food processor and quickly sauté it in butter and then serve it on hamburger buns with iceberg lettuce and tartar sauce or cocktail sauce.

6 burger buns

1 1/4 pounds peeled, deveined shrimp

1/3 cup mayonnaise

1-teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

2 tablespoons butter

Iceberg lettuce

Tartar sauce

Finely grind/blend two burger buns in a food processor (1 1/2 cups crumbs) and transfer to a bowl.  Quickly pulse/blend shrimp in food processor.  You want fairly large chunks of shrimp, not a mushy soup.   Mix them together with the crumbs, mayonnaise, salt and pepper.  Form into four patties.  Melt butter in a skillet and cook the patties on medium heat, turning once, until cooked through, about 9 minutes.  Serve on buns with lettuce and tartar sauce or cocktail sauce.
