Shrimp Prices

 

Urner Barry’s White Shrimp Index continues rise because of disease problems on shrimp farms in Asia. So far in July 2013, the Index is averaging $4.99 a pound, up 24 percent compared to the same period a year ago.  The latest Urner Barry quotation for 21-25 count, farmed, Asian, raw, peeled and deveined, tail-on, whites was reported at $6.30 a pound on July 11, 2013, up $1.35 a pound from the start of the year and up 27 percent from the same period a year ago.
