$36 Million Project

On October 9, 2015, the Viet Uc Group began work on a $36 million shrimp farm in the central province of Binh Dinh.  The site has 300 hectares, 250 hectares for ponds and the rest reserved for other facilities such as warehouses, offices, roads and trees.  The farm is expected to create up to 4,500 jobs.

The company said it would use greenhouses, recirculating systems and biofloc technology from Israel, the USA and the Netherlands.

The project is expected to yield between 100 and 300 metric tons per hectare annually.  The farm could produce 2,900 tons in 2017 and 9,600 tons in 2018.

Shrimp will be exported to the European Union, the United States and Japan and sold to processing plants in Binh Dinh and other provinces.
