Ca Mau Province to Increase Shrimp Production 15% in 2016

In 2016, Ca Mau Province, at the southern tip of Vietnam and one of the country’s leading shrimp farming states, plans to produce 170,000 metric tons of farmed shrimp, an increase of 15% over 2015. The province will have 11,000 hectares of “industrial shrimp farming”, which means semi-intensive and intensive farming, and 90,000 hectares of “improved extensive farming”, a sustainable production model with a higher level of safety than industrial farming.
