Vietnam

Shrimp Exports to Australia

Over the years, Australia has been a big importer of Vietnamese shrimp.  In 2013, Vietnam shrimp sales to Australia exceeded $128 million, up 27.5 percent compared to 2012, making Australia the 6th biggest importer of Vietnam’s shrimp after the USA, Japan, the European Union, China and South Korea.

In 2013, Vietnam ranked second among frozen shrimp suppliers to Australia, after China.

Vietnam is now the largest producer of black tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) in the world with the annual output of 300,000 metric tons.
