Minh Phu Seafood Farms Shrimp in Mangrove Forests

Giant tiger shrimp produced by Vietnam’s leading farmed shrimp producer, Minh Phu Seafood, have earned the world’s first Selva Shrimp Certification for integrated shrimp-mangrove farming in Ca Mau Province, Vietnam.

The black tigers are grown in established mangrove forests in accordance with sustainability criteria developed by Blueyou Consulting.  The shrimp are raised using the natural productivity of the surrounding forest habitat with no feed, fertilizers or chemicals.

Blueyou Consulting, based in Zurich, Switzerland, has established a strategic partnership with Minh Phu to distribute the giant tiger shrimp.  The two companies will showcase the product at the upcoming Seafood Expo North America in Boston (March 15-17 2015).  The product is rated a “best choice” by the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch Program.
