Shrimp Prices Soared in Mid-November 2013

 

During mid-November 2013 in Ca Mau Province, the largest producer of farmed shrimp in Vietnam, the price for 20-count, whole, giant tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) was $13.74 per kilogram, up $0.47/kg over the previous week.  The price for 30-count, whole tigers was $10.90/kg, up $0.24; and the price for 40-count tigers was $9.72, up $0.47/kg.

 

All size classes of whole, white shrimp (P. vannamei) advanced about $0.50 a kilogram in mid-November.
